WP_20151015_009Here is the past five days in my planner companion.

WP_20151015_011

WP_20151015_012And today I am starting another five days. Fresh and clean!

WP_20151015_016

WP_20151015_019This is my daily planner. I use both, but the daily isn’t as portable as the companion.

WP_20151015_017My month at a glance.

WP_20151015_020

WP_20151015_021It’s pretty thick. This guy usually stays on my desk while the companion gets thrown into my purse. This system is really working for me!! I thought having two planners would drive me bonkers, but having a system dump is ingenious!

Enjoy!

DIY Planner/Organizer/Planner Companion

In my case, a planner companion.

WP_20150929_001My tools: ruler, Stabilo fine liners, a Schneider Xpress fine point marker (black), Zebra mech pencil, Maped large eraser, a golden ruler, and a stencil. I used a LARGE Fabriano journal I picked up at Jerry’s back in Austin, Texas on my Labor Day trip.

WP_20150929_003

WP_20150929_010Using my ruler, I made segments and labeled them with categories that would be most useful to me that don’t/wouldn’t fit in my normal planner. Things such as: NOTES/REFERENCE, MEMORIES (weather, thoughts, things my kids do, etc.), QUIET/ME TIME (doodles, thoughts, etc.), and a large section for a Morning Journal. I plan to use this area for bible study and meditations after reading Proverbs or other books.

WP_20150929_007To-Do/Tasks/Errands, water intake, appointments and reminders, and CHORES. Because I always forget to get things done. Ugh.

WP_20150929_009

WP_20150929_006It’s a big, open space!

It was while on this website that I first got the idea to have a companion planner. They have several other articles (AND PRODUCTS!) that are very helpful in planning and organizing your day and thoughts.

Happy Scribbing! ❤

Functional Office Space

Art Wall

Art Wall

Here is a peek at my work space. Our house doesn’t have a garage because it has been converted into another room by the previous owner. I love it! It’s a room off on it’s own away from the other parts of the house. It’s cool, quiet and a great place to work on projects!

This is my art wall/alternative bulletin board. I used clothespins with tacks glued to the backs of them. I decorated the clothespins with washi tape so they weren’t wooden and ugly, but did leave some plain to give it a utilitarian/modern feel.

Here is my command center. It’s in the corner and complete with shelves, drawers, a globe lamp and a white/magnetic board. Perfect for organizing my life and projects! This is my oasis ❤

And coffee in my favorite mug!

I’m a functionally disorganized person. I prefer organized clutter and I really do know where everything is! Drawers, shelving, and pencil bags and jars are a MUST for my functional office space. I don’t like to get up and look for supplies, so I keep them all near by, as you can see. It really is my favorite place I the house! Because we are a family of five on a tight budget, most of my office furniture/organizers are DIY, hand me downs, found on the side of the road, repurposed, dollar store finds, or garage sale items.

Do It Yourself Custom Planner!

Hey, there, ya’ll! I’m going to share my planner (smash book style!) and the supplies I use to get it to look crazy awesome!

WP_20150821_031I use a “mintgreen” brand planner. It’s large, lays flat and is made of natural materials and soy based ink. I am in LOVE with this planner! You can buy one at Amazon:July 2015 – June 2016 Lines Cover Weekly/monthly Planner 6×8 – 60% Recycled / Soy Based Ink (Blue).

WP_20150821_033I customized mine with some stencils I own and acrylic paint. I’m keeping it real with my low rider and last name.

WP_20150821_032See how awesome the lay flat style is?? I’m only a month into the planner and it lays perfectly flat and I don’t have to worry about the pages flipping over while I’m using it!

WP_20150821_034I created a fold out/fold in schedule. I only need one and it can unfold so that I can use it for the entirety of the planner! Every block is an hour– perfect for keeping me on track! And it saves space so I can add more tasks that maybe aren’t so repetitive.

WP_20150821_035This is what my life looks like. Seriously. This is what it’s like in my head!

WP_20150821_036Here’s a look at September. It’s still relatively uncluttered… give it a week or two…

WP_20150821_041And here’s August…

WP_20150821_037

Some tools I use for smashing and planning:

WP_20150821_038Lots of stickers! Lots of stamp markers! Like these:RoseArt Stamp n Color Washable Markers, 15-Count, Assorted Colors, Packaging May Vary (CYB99) and these:Marrywindix Tech 6 Sheets Decorative Scrapbooking Craft Sticker Diary Album Sticker Adhesive which are the ones I own!

WP_20150821_042Here’s my stamp markers used as bullet points.

WP_20150821_043My kawaii kutie patootie cat planner stickers! I ❤ all things kawii!

I love the way my planner screams “me”! I use mine as a journal, planner, smash book, and doodle book. I don’t leave home without it and so far it’s held up really well. It’s my first time using the MintGreen brand, so far it’s been a joy!
